Cahir Enterprise Centre

Cahir Enterprise Centre was built under a FAS Youth Training Initiative and co-funded by Tipperary Enterprise Board, with the balance of the money being raised locally.

The centre was established in 1996 and comprises of seven units varying in size from 150 square feet to 450 square feet. Two of these units are designated for the delivery of a wide range of training courses including computer courses. The Centre has created over 30 full-time and 6 part time jobs since it opened. Cahir Enterprise centre is located in the centre of the town off Town Square.

Cahir is one of Irelands designated Heritage Towns, which depends on tourism and services related industry for its employment. However, in recent years, attempts have been made to broaden its focus, and considerable monies have been spent in encouraging new entrepreneur (SME's) to invest in the town. In 2000, the Regional Craft Granary was established and it showcases the works of local craft enterprises.

The town is strategically located, with the Dublin/Cork road intersecting the Limerick/Waterford road in Cahir. Two of the South East's top visitor attractions situated here,Cahir Castle and the Swiss Cottage. Cahir offers a great quality of life to those visiting the town, and to those who chose to live here, situated in the heart of the Golden Vale.
